Most all the old chandelier and hanging light fixtures used 20 gauge wire in the arms. These wires were much too large for the newer flat fiber optic wires that were available. The new wires are much easier to handle. There is also an option for “hide” wiring which means you can run the wiring further back from the light fixture as it will be hidden by the trim around the chandelier.

They are not just written in an easy to read manner so you don’t get lost, they are very well written with pictures to show exactly what you need to do to properly install your new lighting fixture. You will have everything you need to know including exactly how to run the wires, how to terminate them safely and how to hide the wiring.
I can assure you that if you don’t follow the directions precisely then you can cause yourself some major problems. For example, some people try to run their wires back under the ceiling or behind drywall when they have to run them in a straight line. They don’t think about using a chandelier wiring diagram. Also, some people try to run their wires to a light fixture already in place, like my Grandmother’s old light fixture that hangs down behind the dining room table. They may end up damaging that fixture, which will cost you a lot of money to fix.
